Honey-Ginger Glazed Salmon
Honey is the oldest sweetener humans have used, gathered from wild hives in cave paintings eight thousand years old. Paired with bright ginger, it lacquers salmon into a quick, glossy weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
- 4 salmon fillets (6 oz each)
- 3 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp soy sauce or tamari
- 1 tbsp grated fresh ginger
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp toasted sesame oil
- Sliced scallions and sesame seeds to finish
Method
- Heat the oven to 400°F and line a sheet pan.
- Whisk the honey, soy sauce, ginger, garlic, olive oil and sesame oil into a glaze.
- Set the salmon on the pan, brush generously with half the glaze, and roast 10–12 minutes until just opaque.
- Brush with the remaining glaze and finish under the broiler for 1–2 minutes until sticky and caramelized.
- Scatter with scallions and sesame seeds and serve over rice.
