Clean Coconut-Lime Dirty Soda
The dirty soda was born in Utah soda shops, where the signature build was a cola loaded with coconut syrup, lime, and cream. This version keeps the creamy-tropical swirl but starts from sparkling water and real coconut cream — the soda-fountain idea, dialed back to the pantry.
Ingredients
- 2 cups chilled sparkling water
- 1/4 cup coconut cream
- Juice of 1 lime
- 1–2 tsp honey or maple syrup, to taste
- Nugget or crushed ice
- Lime wheels to garnish
Method
- Fill two tall glasses with nugget or crushed ice.
- Stir the honey into the lime juice until dissolved, then divide between the glasses.
- Top with sparkling water, leaving room at the top.
- Slowly pour the coconut cream over the back of a spoon so it swirls down through the bubbles, and garnish with a lime wheel.

Cook's note: Pour the cream slowly over the back of a spoon — it keeps the soda from foaming over and gives that signature marbled swirl.
